I'm pumped that I get to show off Sarah Carpenter's new look. I met Sarah at Katie and Stancy's Half Orange Merry Making workshop last year. It was friendship at first site, so I was thrilled when she asked me to do her branding a few months later.
Sarah is a wedding photographer in Dallas (though she loves to travel, for those of you getting hitched...)
She wins the timeliest and most attentive client award. To say she was a joy to work with is a serious understatement. I'm honored I that I got to play this important role in her business.
After we figured out our timeline, we got to work. We talked about what her goals and ambitions are. Who are her dream clients? What will a satisfying 2014 look like? What are her expectations? How is she marketing herself and staying current in her field? How does she want to be remembered? How much is she worth? It was kind of a lot...so I'll just leave it at that. It's important to ask good, open ended questions. Usually we already know the answers, we just have to find them ourselves.
Once we got the direction nailed down, we worked on the logo then the business cards and website. Her logo looked best having a horizontal version for the web. She wanted something soft and feminine. Since she's a friend of florals, that was an easy place to start. I did not complain that I got to play flowers and flourishes. Every project brings new lessons, insights and breakthroughs. This was no exception, thankfully, because it's the most satisfying.
I can't wait to see what's ahead for Sarah's business. Her zest for her family, work and clients is really inspiring. She follows through and puts everything into what she does. She gave me beautiful images to work with and a clear direction.
I'm delighted to work with clients like this who are passionate about their business and want to work on something bigger than themselves. I also just so happen to love hand lettered branding, so you can see why this was so dreamy.
Contact me if you have a project inquiry, whether it be branding or an illustration project. I'd love to chat more and give you a quote. I'm so excited for what 2014 has in store!
