Today we're talking to Morgan Blake, a wildly talented photographer based out of Atlanta. I met Morgan in Austin at the So Worth Loving tour and have enjoyed following her pursuits since. I love her portraits (not surprising, since she loves shooting people). Her work has been featured in Cultured Blog, Plywood People, Jezebel Magazine and Minted. Be sure to check out her gorgeous site and make sure to keep up with her on Twitter and Instagram.
What do you do?
I take photographs. I desire to make people and things look and feel beautiful using light + simplicity.
Walk us through your day. Not your greatest day, but not your worst. What does a good-to-ideal day look like for you?
9am: iced vanilla latte at octane coffee
9:30am: be inspired. through pinterest, pretty printed publications, sitting outside
10am: roam around + pick up around the house
11am: start editing
12pm: get inspired again
1pm: emails, admin + more emails
3pm: hang with a friend. running up the street for a coke float, have a visitor to the house, meet someone for late lunch or more coffee
5pm: finish up the to-do list
Do you have any boundaries throughout your day?
I just recently moved my "office" out of my home. This was the best thing I could have ever done for myself, my business and my sanity. I now eat meals at the table, wake up and relax in my home, actually read something thats not on my screen. Also, turning off email notifications + only answering them one time in my day has allowed my brain to have more capacity for creativity.
