1. New print in the shop!
Check it out here. If you order before Tuesday, I'll send along an extra so you can give one to a friend. Kindness is cool.
I went with the boo and his family to the Florida/Alabama coast. Peridido Bay/Orange Beach/Gulf Shores region. It's been years since I've flown anywhere without my laptop and ready to work. The corn hole and La Croix flowed like milk and honey, I read Franny and Zooey, made another flowchart and even learned new boardgames. The view was beautiful but the people were even better. I'm so thankful for their generosity and hospitality. I got to recharge right after I wrapped up a huge illustration project and right before I start a new one. I must make time to see our creator's handiwork more often.
I turned 27 yesterday. I like crossing over from upper-mid-twenties to lower-upper-twenties. I like getting older. Age comes with wrinkles but the wrinkles come with wisdom and I'm proud that I made it this far. Whatever happens from here on out is fine. I've already been handed more than I deserve.
Greg (bf) and Bekah (roomie) arranged a surprise party for the moment we arrived back in Austin. We went to Black Star for what I thought would just be a few friends gathered but there were over 20 people. I still can't believe them. Again, I don't know how I landed here.
I'm especially thankful for my mother. 27 years ago yesterday, she spent the 19th delivering her brand new, 7 lb little girl. I'm sure it was a painful, stressful and sleepless day. Unlike me, she didn't get local beer or ice cream.
Thank you for that day and the months of sleepless nights since. I love you, mom.
